Steve Klinger
Chief Executive Officer, Crown Paper Group

Mr. Klinger leads CPG business operations and serves as Affiliate partner of Lindsay Goldberg. Prior to developing Crown Paper group, Mr. Klinger served as Member of the Board of Directors of Smurfit-Stone Container and of Navistar International; CEO of K & S Atlanta Properties; President and COO of Smurfit-Stone Container; and Executive VP of Packaging, Pulp and Global Procurement for Georgia-Pacific. Mr. Klinger is a graduate of the Duke University Advanced Management Program and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from Georgia State University.

 

Matt Denton
Chief Financial Officer, Crown Paper Group

Mr. Denton leads finance, information technology, and procurement at companies owned by CPG. Prior to joining Crown Paper Group, he served as Managing Principal for Business Finance Results; Senior VP of Finance for RockTenn; Senior VP of Finance for Smurfit-Stone Container; and VP of Finance for Georgia-Pacific. In service to the industry, Mr. Denton serves as a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and of the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants. Mr. Denton earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Rutgers University.

 

Mike Exner
Board Advisor for Mill Operations, Crown Paper Group

Mr. Exner leads mill operations at companies owned by Crown Paper Group and serves as Affiliate Partner of Lindsay Goldberg. Prior to joining Crown Paper Group, Mr. Exner served as Senior VP of Containerboard at RockTenn; Senior VP of Manufacturing at Smurfit-Stone Container; and VP of Containerboard Manufacturing at International Paper. Mr. Exner earned a Master of Science Degree in Paper Science from the Institute of Paper Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Lawrence University.

 

Steve Strickland
Board Advisor for Sales Packaging, Crown Paper Group

Mr. Strickland leads sales and packaging plants of companies owned by CPG and serves as Affiliate Partner of Lindsay Goldberg. Prior to joining Crown Paper Group, Mr. Strickland served as Senior VP of Corrugated Container for RockTenn and of Smurfit-Stone Container; Senior VP of Packaging for the Unisource Division of Georgia-Pacific; and Vice President of National Sales for Georgia-Pacific. In service to the industry, Mr. Strickland served as a member of the Executive Committee of the American Forest and Paper Association and of the Fibre Box Association.

 

Colin Fernie
President, Port Townsend Paper Corporation and Crown Corrugated Company

Mr. Fernie began his pulp and paper career in 2006 with Smurfit –MBI, based in Ontario, as the Vice President and General Manager of the Canadian corrugated packaging business, after spending much of his career in senior leadership roles in the Aerospace industry. He worked at Western Concord in Delta BC as President before moving to Crown Corrugated Company in Vancouver. Mr. Fernie was appointed President of Crown Corrugated in 2015 and as President of Port Townsend Paper Corporation and Crown Corrugated in 2016. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from York University, and is a CPA, CMA in Canada.

 

Mike Craft
Mill Manager

Mr. Craft began his career at International Paper in 1982 and has held various positions of responsibility, including Mill Manager at IP’s Androscoggin, ME, Mansfield, LA and Pineville, LA mills. In 2010 Mike became the General Manager at the Smurfit-Stone mill in Hodge, LA. He joined Port Townsend Paper in 2014 as the Engineering and Maintenance Manager.

 

Henry Smedley
Operations Manager

Mr. Smedley joined Port Townsend Paper Corporation in 2010. He previously managed paper machine operations for Georgia Pacific, Crown Zellerbach, Diashowa America, and James River. He earned a BS in Chemical Engineering and Business Administration from Washington State University.

 

Kevin Wright
General Sales Manager

Mr. Wright joined Port Townsend Paper Corporation in 1984 and served in varying positions as Technician, Product Analyst, Technical Director and New Product Development Manager. Prior to his current role, he served as Export Sales Manager until 2004. He earned a BS from the University of Washington.
