Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot process control systems. Implement
projects to optimize process control systems in the mill.
1. Troubleshooting
process control, and instrumentation systems.
2. Documentation of new systems, changes, and corrective actions.
3. Repair and maintenance of mill equipment and systems.
4. Assigned projects including, planning, team leadership, programming, and
training for process control system modifications and improvements.
5. Contact vendors and inquire about Instruments and controls devices.
Minimum Requirements
Education
Level Required: High School diploma or equivalent for technicians. Two
year technical degree or equivalent for instrumentation. Completed
apprenticeship program in major craft or equivalent experience.
Experience Required: Minimum five years experience within
E&I crews as a journeyman. Time spent in apprenticeship program may be
credited. Experience within the Electrical craft. Experiences Industrial
Instrumentation Technician.
Knowledge Required: Journeyman level instrumentation and
process control equipment skills. A basic level of skills in processes that
may be outside of the primary craft’s core competency including welding,
cutting, machining, metalworking, computer operation, fitting, rigging, and
other skills common to maintenance activities. Experience with electrical
controls.
